While watching a Tony Robbins (Life Coach Guru) lecture the other day, I came across the fundamental debate on the essential needs of humans. Tony describes them in 6 ways, with the focus of the first four in personality needs and 5-6 a spiritual needs. All being necessary for proper adaption, I began to wonder how these fundamentals are integrated into an organized life. Here are the 6 needs Tony Robbins relates:
1. Certainty - The state of feeling or being; acceptable to what is minimum.
2. Love - To be needed and fill the needs of love.
3. Significance - To have purpose with meaning and joy.
4. Connection - To self identity and relate to others.
5. Growth - To always be moving forward in a positive manner.
6. Contribution - To be apart of something bigger than ones self and have integrity.
No matter the condition that is being tested, everyone has needs and the way by which one copes to have these needs filled are varied.
The question to me then is why is it an imperative to our species to be organized? I can only say, that I believe it is a crucial need of survival. Without the underling systems we organize in our thoughts and behaviours the way we would adapt to our environments could vary well lead us to distinction. If we don't clean our places of living we become sick, if we don't clear our minds of stress and worry we become sick..... To me it is essential to be organized. To others, it may just seem like a way to cope and get my needs filled of love and acceptance. But I rather think it is the way I show others that I care for them and the way I welcome and care for my guests in my home.
