Challenges occur in life when we make things too complex to manage. Are you finding piles of storage boxes too complicated of a task to get at? Basements are made as foundations of your structured home. Starting in this room to organize is the best step forward in any home organization project. Getting at the structure of your organizational problem is key to a beginning of progress.

The substances hoped for there, is simplicity with the focus of necessity. Just like the principle of Ockham's Razor - the object is to eliminate the complications that arise around the simplicity of the project.

1. Begin with a plan - Know what contents are in your space, rummage through and categorize

2. Draw a map of your room and plan by category where you will begin.

(I find starting with a clean space is most beneficial to a wholistic project)

3. By function and use, strategize your plan to sort and place starting in west of room to east.

4. When placement is arranged, keep in mind two types of storage; short term and long term use.

5. After project is complete, take another look over your plan and outcome to seek sources of further complications and reduce by management of necessity.

Remember to keep it simple and your plans should work out terrifically!
